When Everything Happens at Once
On feeling "under the weather", rebelliously resting, and the intrigue of forward planning.
Woah, what a week.
It’s been one of those weeks where everything seems to happen all at once. People are ill. Deadlines are, like, right there! We've run out of pet food, there's a sink full of dishes and somehow over the course of the week I've realised that every single item of clothing in my wardrobe has holes. Worn patches. Unravelling seams. Here I am, the mender, the fixer and stitcher, with an entire collection of clothes, some of which have been in use for over 20 years, all in need of mending, or turning into something else, or being chopped up for stuffing, and no time at all to turn my stitching fingers to them. It's a problem I've been pondering all week, while running up and down the stairs with various icy beverages for my poorly kids.
